Kylie Lip Kit Review: Posie K & Candy K

Kylie Jenner took the beauty world by storm when she released her lip kits! So many beauty babes are going crazy for them! She must've done at least 6 or 7 releases and they still sell out in about 5 minutes every time!

So far there are 8 shades...

True Brown K, Posie K, Dolce K, Candy K, Koko K, 22, Mary Jo K, Kourt K
Image from @kyliecosmetics Instagram

I don't think I'd necessarily want all the shades because they wouldn't all be right for me, so I've got 2 so far. I've got Posie K which is a gorgeous pink and Candy K which is a pink-based nude. I absolutely love the packaging, you can see it in the photos I've taken above. The branding is really well done and everything just looks consistent and sleek. The kits come in at $29 USD each, which I think is very reasonable for a lip liner and a liquid lipstick, however international shipping is $14.95 so if you're going to order remember that it is pretty steep.

I will say though, the quality of the products is fantastic, I absolutely love them. They smell amazing, really sweet like vanilla cupcakes or something. The lip liner is smooth and creamy, and the liquid lipstick is probably the best formula I've used. At first I thought it couldn't be that amazing as it seems very thin, but it's so pigmented and dries to perfection. It lasts really well, I've had to reapply a tiny bit on my inner lips after eating my lunch on the days I've worn it but other than that, absolutely perfect.

Posie K

Posie K

I'm so pleased with the colours I went for as well. Posie K is from the valentines collection and is the perfect pink for me, I just think it goes really well with my hair and skin tone. Although these products do look great on most skin tones, if you follow @kyliecosmetics on instagram you can see all the customer photos she has reposted and get an idea of how different colours look on different skin tones. Candy K is one of the original 3, and this one just looks great on everyone, it's so easy to wear and I love the colour, I could honestly wear it every day! I'd definitely recommend these to anyone in search of the perfect liquid lipstick.

Before I apply, I always exfoliate with the Lush Cosmetics Bubblegum Lip Scrub and prime my lips with MAC Prep + Prime Lip. I definitely think doing this helps the longevity of the lipstick and how well they apply so I'd recommend exfoliating and priming first, but I'd recommend that before using any matte lip products!

The next drop is set to be today!!! Monday 28th March, it's 4pm PST which is midnight in the UK, if you're not sure about what time that is where you are just google it and it'll come right up!

If you've struggled to get a lip kit I'd just recommend having the website loaded and ready 10 mins before the drop, then just refresh the page when it gets to the right time, add what you want to your cart as quickly as possible and check out! There's no magic trick to it, you just have to get in there and get checked out as quickly as you can! Good luck beauty babes!!

Easter Gift Ideas completely unrelated to Easter

In my house, Easter has never been much of a big deal. Growing up I always got to do an Easter Egg Hunt which my parents had planted for me the night before, but you didn't get presents or anything like that, purely a few chocolate eggs. But I realise this is not the case for everyone!! Some of my friends used to get all sorts of things for Easter. So I thought I'd do a little gift guide, because nobody wants to do anything extravagant for Easter, but it's nice to make someone smile and show you put in a bit of thought. However before you continue you should know that these gifts are really completely unrelated to Easter, as in there are no chocolate eggs or the like, and it's just a bit of fun! Still, hope you enjoy!

#1 - A sassy new bag

I've chosen to include a couple from the brand Skinny Dip because they really are a fantastic brand. Everything they do is so fun and light-hearted. So here are a couple of bags I absolutely love. They're not to expensive but they are a perfect addition to any handbag collection for SS16.

#2 - Iron-on patches and pin badges

I'm seeing this emerging trend of DIY denim jackets, bomber jackets and ringer tees decorated with cute and sassy iron-on patches, and I completely love it! I particularly love these quirky ones from the Ohh Deer X ASOS range.

#3 - Candles

Candles are always a safe bet, and easily please a lot of people. They are also inexpensive, but you can really consider the person you are buying for, whether you're looking for a particular scent or colour, or even a candle in the shape of something. I love these flower-shaped tea lights and colour dripping candles from Urban Outfitters.

#4 - New sunnies

Summer is approaching, and now is the time that all the gorgeous sunglasses are hitting the shops. I work in retail and I can tell you everyone is buying them already, so go get 'em. My favourite brand for sunglasses at the moment is Quay Australia, however I am going crazy for these floral ones from Jeepers Peepers, available on ASOS.

#5 - Holiday things

Maybe you've got a holiday planned in the next few months. I know a lot of people who have already booked their trips and breaks for the year. So here are a couple of fun gifts that you could buy for a partner or a friend if you're going on holiday by Sunnylife.

#6 - De-stressing gifts

We all need some down-time, and it's so nice for others to realise that. So a colouring book is a great idea for a gift. I've been meaning to get myself one, I bet it's so nice to be relaxed and have something fun and creative to concentrate on with such ease. But if you're a bit too silly for that, there's a pug stress ball down there too!

#7 - Special Easter Breakfast

Breakfast is one of the best meals of the day because it is when foods like bacon, waffles, Nutella and pancakes seem to be the most acceptable, not necessarily together mind you. Breakfast is so underrated, so if you want to make someone feel special this Easter, go all out and make them a lovely breakfast because I bet you don't have work, so there's no excuse not to! I plan to make these amazing pancakes >> https://www.zoella.co.uk/2016/02/pancakes-3-ways.html I saw them on one of Zoella's blogs and I need them!

Are you going to ditch the chocolate eggs and treat someone this Easter?

March Beauty Faves (& then some)

So I am aware that the whole Micellar Water hype was months and months ago, and I did buy it then, as everyone else did, but I just used it a little bit, on the odd occasion. Anyway one of my friends was telling me that face wipes are bad for your skin because of everything they contain and this is a much better way to remove your makeup.  So I took her advice and my skin has been a lot better recently, I think it's to do with a combination of things but this definitely helps! I still like to use a wipe to get off my mascara because I feel like some of this on a cotton pad would make the process take so much longer, but removing face make-up, brow and lip products, this is what I go for. Obviously I have yet to try any other brands yet but I'll have to look into what's good, but I do really like this one, I'd definitely repurchase.

Next up is La Roche Posay Effaclar K+ Daily Moisturiser. I've been absolutely loving this for the past few weeks, but first I will say, I have oily skin and get blemishes, so when I recommend skincare products I'm saying what works for me and my skin, and it won't necessarily work for everyone! This has been an absolute necessity to me, I've been using it every morning and evening. It's anti-oxidation and anti-sebum(oil) for up to 8 hours which makes this the perfect moisturiser to wear under makeup. I would agree that skin looks more refined, as after I use this my complexion does look so much better. Obviously it can't fix everything to do with my problem skin but I'm liking it a lot, I'll definitely repurchase. This is the 3rd product I've tried from the Effacer range so far and I've liked them all, so I'll definitely see what else they have! And a lot of these products are in a "Buy 1 get 2nd half price" offer on boots.com.

This is my new eye cream which I purchased from feelunique.com. This one's a bit more controversial and I didn't know whether I should include it or not, but it's a good product so I thought I'd just put it in and see what you think. The eye cream is from a brand called the Emu Oil Well. First of all, I'd done no prior research on this, I was buying other stuff, thought I could do with an eye cream, so chucked one with good reviews in my basket.  I had no idea that Emu Oil was oil which came from an emu, I know that sounds stupid but I just thought it was the name of the company and that's that. I did look into this after though and apparently all their emus are free-range which softens the blow. Anyway this eye cream has actually been pretty good, my biggest problem is dark circles and this has definitely helped, it's pretty thick and moisturising and a little goes a long way. Because of where the oil comes from I'm not sure I'd repurchase, but I'll definitely use all of this, waste not want not, right.

Lately I've actually been favouring this foundation over MAC Studio Fix Fluid, so I feel like this is a big deal. I'm trying to figure out if it helps me stay matte for longer, because I think it does. It claims to be a 3 in 1 formula with primer, foundation and concealer. To be honest I haven't been using a primer with it every day because my face feels so good after using moisturiser and the moisturiser promises 8h of matte skin, so I've only been using it as foundation. I have still been using concealer too for my blemishes, but I do feel like it's a nice full-coverage foundation. I also love the colour. MAC go down to NC15 or NW10, so if you've got cooler skin tones (pink) then it doesn't go as pale as if you've got warm skin tones (yellow). I have a pink undertone, however I use NW13, so the foundation is the wrong colour basically, but I need it to be that pale. I wouldn't say it looks awful but every now and again I think I look a bit warmer than I should. However this foundation is really pale and has pink undertones, perfect for me!

I have been absolutely loving this face mask. I think it's the first thing that has actually made a difference when it comes to my huge pores! It's got a lovely, creamy yet light texture, it exfoliates and smells nice and minty. I also like the tingly feeling it gives because I feel like it's doing something. The idea here is you massage it into your skin, leave it on for 5 mins for a quick refresh or 15 mins for a full cleanse and rinse off. It's so simple and I've enjoyed using it. You only need about a grape size and concentrate it on your T-zone. It's by Soap & Glory if you can't quite see in the photo and is currently on offer at boots.com.

I picked up these big boys from feelunique.com. They recently(ish) had 20% off for students, so I thought I'd make the most of it and get the salon sized bottles I had been wanting. I've really liked the hair mask and miracle filler spray from this range so I thought I'd fork out and get the shampoo and conditioner, after all I do love my hair and it's been through a lot. These bottles will last me a while I'm sure. I really like the smell, how they make my hair feel and also the anti-fade technology that they use, as I colour my hair so bright I hate it when it fades too quickly, and this definitely helps prevent that.

I'm putting this in even though I think this is just my eternal favourite, this is my scent. I've loved it for ages and use it nearly every day.  I love the bottle for this perfume, it travels really well and fits in any bag. With top notes of black coffee, heart notes of white florals and base notes of vanilla, this perfume is just me all over, it smells divine. I'll repurchase forever.

Lastly I thought I'd throw this in. It's the instant coconut lattes by Nescafe. I picked them up at my local Morrisons and they're nearly all gone. I'm definitely going back for more. I'm a sucker for anything coconut flavoured anyway, for example, coconut Lindor are my favourite chocolates ever. So anyway, I tried them, they taste so good and I'm hooked.

What have you been loving this month?

Lovely Recent Purchases

Just a quick one here, I've picked up some very, very cute things recently! And I just thought I'd share some of them with you because, well, they're cute and if you read this blog you probably like cute and colourful things like me! If you follow me in Instagram you might've already seen some of these things but I'll let you know which bits I'm loving and why!

Reebok X Areta
Reebok Ventilator Local Heroes Trainers

Take one look at these and if you know me, you know they were made for me!! They remind me of My Little Pony and pastel rainbows. I love the iridescent panels on the side, the second set of laces that say "Doing real stuff sucks" and just every little detail. These are well designed and comfortable. I lived in them for a whole week after I purchased them from ASOS, and they're definitely going to be worn to death! Styling suggestions to come..

Vans Pastel Ombre Backpack

Next up is this gorgeous bag. I purchased it alongside my new trainers because, well, pastel rainbows everywhere. It's just really nice, practical and pretty. I purchased it because I was travelling and wanted something bigger and easier to carry than my handbag, and it'll come in really handy for holidays and summer day trips.

Lip Kit by Kylie

If you're into your make-up then you'll know all about these already I'm sure. All I'm going to say for now is that I love it, because I'm going to do a whole new blog post on Posie K and Candy K, so keep your eyes peeled.

Topshop Purse

Next up is my darling Topshop Purse which my Nanna treated me to! It's just really me, perfectly matches one of my Topshop make-up bags, and I really needed a new purse because I've been using the tinyest little purse for ages despite having a million billion cards.

Iridescent Seashell Cushion

Another one for your inner mermaid to lust over. I picked up this one in New Look, and I must say they had some really nice home bits in there, I was pleasantly surprised. All I've picked up so far is this cute cushion but I'll definitely be back for more. I just love the colours in this, it's pink but in the light it reflects green and just looks amazing, I'm slowly but surely redecorating and sorting out my bedroom so I'll find a home for this!

Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum

So I think I may have mentioned the deep conditioning treatment in my haircare post a month or so ago. Anyway I picked up everything in this range now. The salon size bottles are from feelunique.com, and I purchased them when they were doing 20% off for students! I saved quite a bit of money getting hold of them that way and I'm finding the range amazing so far, I may do a post on everything in the near future!

i-D Mag

I don't have time to sit here and tell you all the reasons I love i-D but it's an amazing magazine and you should all go and buy it and read it right now. I really need to just get a subscription because I love every issue. My favourite article in this issue was about "moving towards a genderless fashion future" which is a really interesting and current topical issue. I also enjoyed the Amandla Stenberg feature, she is emerging as an interesting and influential young woman. You can also see my jelly beans in the photo, yes I did just buy them because they are advertised as "Jewel Collection" and I'm a princess.

ASOS Wishlist: What's in my saved items?

Currently my Saved Items on ASOS totals just under 80 different products. Cosmetics, shoes and bags all included. ASOS is a site I can browse for hours, I can quite honestly get lost in there. I love that they stock so many amazing brands but also have their own branded lines, I love the ASOS stylists and their picks and I bloody love ASOS premier, it's a bargain for any shopaholic. So today is just another wishlist, but everything is from ASOS!!!

ASOS Pom Pom Cardigan
Reebok Ventilator Local Heroes Trainers

ASOS Exclusive Lazy Oaf Shirt Dress

Monki Crop Dungarees
Adolescent Clothing Sweatshirt

Jaded London Bum Bag

ASOS Metallic Lizard iPhone Case

ASOS Metallic Flatform Sandals

Ohh Deer Iron On Patch / Badge Set

Quay Australia Kitty Cat Eye Sunglasses

I've noticed the recurring themes too, I think this is just the time of year I go from being dressed in those dark wintery colours to becoming a pastel princess. I am loving all the metallics too, especially when it comes to accessories, they are so striking and just complete the SS16 look.

I think that some people just master the art of transitioning from season to season, whereas it hits me like a tonne of bricks. I am also looking out for my holiday purchases already too, so the bum bag and sandals will most likely be future purchases I hope!!

#OOTD & Mother's Day Walk

So on Mother's Day I went for a walk with my family, and thought it was a good opportunity to do a quick outfit post because I've just dyed my hair again, and I wanted some nice photos of it being all vibrant and amazing. We walked along the coastal path near where I live, it's a really nice walk but it was a bit chilly. I layered a black cord shirt over a roll neck to keep a bit of warmth in, I don't really own many scarves, I'm not exactly sure why, but the roll neck definitely helped keep me a little bit warm! This particular pink roll neck has actually gone out of stock because I bought it in the sale, but there are blue and khaki versions online which are equally nice, I've linked them below! Obviously I wanted to be comfortable walking so I opted for my black Air Max Tavas trainers, I love the speckled bottom on these and those white bits on the laces are reflective which looks great at night under the street lights. Overall it was just a comfortable and easy outfit to chuck on for a nice walk, but it also looked quite nice. Scroll down for a photo of my baby boy Alfie having a splash around!!
