The single girls guide: What to buy yourself for Valentines Day

Valentines Day. Who cares? I mean it's big, it's commercial, it's a way to make money from selling rubbish soft toys, cheap chocolates and tacky flowers. But at least if you're in a relationship you might get a present. Well even if you're as single as the sun is bright, it doesn't mean you don't deserve a present! Everyone deserves a present!!! So I thought I'd make a little gift guide of what you can buy yourself for GALentines Day. Be your own babe.

#1. #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso
This book is at the top of my reading list. I have ordered it from Amazon and will probably do a little post about it after I've read it, so for now, I'll leave you with the words of Lena Dunham... "#GIRLBOSS is more than a book and Sophia Amoruso is more than a purveyor of (fine and fly) garments. #GIRLBOSS is a movement - a philosophy for making your work life as fun, fresh and raunchy as your personal adventures. Sophia encourages us to own the qualities we've previously been ashamed of (bossiness, crudeness, petty thievery) in order to become the masters of our own destiny, financially independent and radically ourselves. I'm so in."

#2. The ingredients for a perfect night in
Everyone loves a good pamper session, and I think most of us don't do it enough. So set aside a whole evening and go to town. You want a bath bomb and a face mask from Lush? Get it. You want to sit in the bath with green on your face eating Nutella out of the jar? Good. Do it. Just relax, have a cheat evening, eat some donuts, have a Netflix binge in bed while you give yourself a mani pedi, whatever you fancy doing that makes you feel good about yourself!

#3. ASOS Premier Membership
Hear me out shopaholics. You need this in your life. The internet shopping gods have blessed us with the option of Next Day Delivery for a whole year for a mere £9.95. That is amazing. The other day I ordered the mint green Nikes on the left at 10pm, they were here before 2pm the following day. When express delivery is £5.95, why would you not just get premier membership! I know it's a random one to chuck in, but I think you need someone who has it and fully appreciates it to tell you that the £9.95 is worth it! Go on gals, know you want to!

#4. A Make-up Organiser
We all need one of these. I ordered one like this from Amazon for about £15. That's a total bargain! I do have one like the top half go this, but it doesn't have the little drawers, and I think I need the little drawers. They're perfect really, not only is it great make-up storage, but it's all see through, so when the girls come round they can all be envious of your MAC lipstick collection and decide which they want to borrow for the next girls night out!

#5. Book a girls holiday
I basically thought of this one because I'm going to do it very soon. Get your girl gang together, and single or not, get them all going on a holiday or even just a mini-break. Rekindle the girl love with piƱa coladas and sunsets. It doesn't even matter where you go as long as you enjoy yourself! But if you were wondering I'm currently looking into Amsterdam for some good times with one of my favourite babes.

#6. The Little Book of Mindfulness by Tiddy Rowan
This cute little hardback book fits perfectly in any handbag, and it has over 150 techniques, tips, exercises, advice and meditations that will help you to be more mindful, that is to still the mind and relax the body. Mindfulness increases well-being and contentment in every aspect of everyday life. So if you're feeling a bit stressed about anything pick this one up, you can just slip it out of your handbag while you're on the bus, have a read and feel rejuvenated.

If you must know what I got myself for GALentines day, I got myself a bubble bar and bath bomb from Lush, as well as some AMAZING Adidas Superstars that I'm in love with, they haven't arrived yet but you can guarantee you'll see them plastered across my social media accounts as soon as they're home with momma. If you don't follow me already I'm @kateaharv on twitter and instagram, have a look!

So, anyway, the moral of the story is, I'm not bitter, I just think that everyone deserves a present. It's important to take care of yourself, and you really shouldn't need an excuse to treat yourself because you totally deserve it anyway.  Remember, be your own babe.

Stay sassy x
